Infant, pre-toddlers, toddlers (6 weeks–36 months)
Every moment of your infant’s development is unforgettable. Our infant program
is designed to nurture babies as they get acquainted with the world around
them. We love to cuddle, rock and sing to our infants in the safe and nurturing
environment provided at LCC. Our loving teachers are here to help your baby
develop motor skills, stimulate creativity and provide a happy, comfortable
environment.
Every parent wants their child to be happy and to take joy in discovering our wonderful world. Our program for infants, and toddlers has been designed to encourage discovery, build self-esteem, develop language skills, and stimulate creativity and motor development. Weekly, theme-related curriculums are implemented. Daily reports on your child's day are provided. Hot nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks are provided daily. Cost of formula is included with your weekly tuition.
Some of our outdoor activities include playground time, buggy rides and walks on our spacious 82 acre campus. Tummy time is also provided in the infant classroom! Toddlers are a whirlwind of energy and curiosity. Two-year-olds are surer of themselves and of what they can do as they grow. During this time, children are constantly exploring their world and learning to successfully communicate with you and others. Our program for toddlers has been designed to channel this curiosity and energy to encourage discovery, build self-esteem, develop language skills and stimulate creativity and motor development. To keep you updated on the progress of your little learner, reports on your child’s activities are provided daily. Some activities include:
Preschool
Three and four year olds are eager to learn and want to touch, taste, smell, hear and test things for themselves. They are full of questions and want to learn everything about the world around them. Preschool aged children make developmental strides every day, and LCC Preschool program is here to ensure that your child is making the most of this amazing time. We do this by offering a program that is developmentally appropriate for children 36 months until they are ready to begin Kindergarten. Children's learning is enhanced through fun, active, hands-on activities that encourage exploration with the developmentally appropriate materials available in the classroom centers. Preschool is a time when children learn about sharing and friendship. To foster the building of healthy relationships our curriculum consists of Al's Pals, a program to help children develop social and emotional skills along with teaching them to handle difficult behaviors. Our preschool program also consists of weekly themes designed to prepare your child for the next big step in life, Kindergarten. These readiness building activities are based on the Virginia Foundation Blocks for Early Learning developed by the Virginia Department of Education. After a morning of learning and activities, nap time prepares tired children for a fun filled afternoon. Afternoon hours are spent in family-style groups that include a variety of learning center activities.
Our Preschool program has separate classes for two, three, four year olds and for Pre-Kindergarteners. These full day programs emphasize developmental skills, creative expression, and introduction to computer literacy and music. Individual assessments are performed twice a year to ensure that each child's development needs are being met.
